The Work Environment
Security guards might have to spend really long hours standing on their feet while patrolling homes, private commercial properties or state buildings. In some situations, guards are stationed at different types of security checkpoints to spend a large part of the day in one position. In the majority of cases, guards need to work in 8-hour shifts. Often, they need to work during the night and also on weekends. In general, security guards’ work is pretty much routinely oriented. Then again, guards have to be alert at all times so that they can protect the premises and the public against potential threats.
